Biography

Paulene is a specialist practitioner in asylum and immigration law and has been practising in this field for many years.  She provides representation and advice at all levels of the appellate system and the courts.  She has represented clients from a number of different countries as wide ranging as Turkey, Sri Lanka, China, DRC, Iran and Colombia. She is particularly interested in cases involving children and gender issues, having at one time been involved in setting up a rape crisis help line, together with wide-ranging experience in entry clearance cases including appeals relating to students and the entry of relatives to the UK.

Experience

Paulene commenced her practice in crime where she dealt with a variety of cases at both Magistrates and Crown Court level from road traffic accidents through to rape and burglary. She also undertook many civil trials for large insurance companies in road traffic cases.

She subsequently increased the scope of her practice to include immigration and family work, mostly private Children Act matters and injunctions.  She also has experience of numerous licensing applications and on occasion has appeared before the Mental Health Tribunal.
