Biography
Shiva is a Family Law practitioner specialising in public law care proceedings, adoption, international child abduction and forced marriage cases. She represents Local Authorities, parents and guardians and undertakes some private law work. She also undertakes pro bono work being a trustee of a women's refuge with a particular interest in safeguarding women from violence.
Experience
Shiva has delivered many lectures and seminars on topical legal issues and developments in her field of law for both solicitors and social workers. In the past, she has contributed to research commissioned by government in relation to forced marriage and in particular the adequacy of UK legislstion in safeguarding victims of domestic violence. Shiva is also a pupil superviser.
