Experience: Matt has been practising in immigration and asylum law for over 6 years. He started at the coal face as case worker and in house advocate for a well known legal aid firm in East London. Having been at the bar for the last 4 years he has developed a mixed immigration and family law practice with a particular specialty in Sri Lankan client work and the interface between the two jurisdictions. His most recent reported decision of R (Aruliraivan) v SSHD has been reported not just in the legal press but worldwide through the UN portal. Matt was nominated for the Legal Aid Practitioners Group Young Barrister of the Year Award in 2007. |
